Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- CPA designation is preferred.
- At least 8 years of relevant public accounting or industry accounting experience, ideally with significant exposure to construction clients.
- Demonstrated experience delivering accounting and advisory services to construction organizations, including job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting.
- Strong understanding of cash flow forecasting, project profitability, liquidity management, and financial planning.
- Proven ability to operate at a CFO-advisory level and translate financial analysis into strategic recommendations.
- Experience leading teams through organizational change, technology adoption, and process improvement.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience managing remote teams and fostering collaboration across multiple locations.
- Familiarity with construction and accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Procore, Sage Intacct Construction, or Foundation.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead CFO-level client advisory engagements, providing strategic financial guidance and operational recommendations tailored to construction organizations.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with business owners, executives, project leaders, and other senior client stakeholders.
- Analyze financial performance, KPIs, profitability, cash flow, and liquidity, translating complex financial information into clear and actionable recommendations.
- Advise clients on construction-specific financial matters, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and project-based financial management.
- Oversee multiple client teams and engagements, ensuring accounting deliverables are accurate, timely, high quality, and aligned with client expectations.
- Drive change management and process improvement initiatives by introducing technology, standardized workflows, and industry best practices.
- Partner with external stakeholders, including banks, sureties, auditors, and insurance providers, to address client financial and operational needs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting professionals, fostering accountability and continuous learning.
