Requirements
- Master’s degree and 1-2 years of directly related experience, or Ph.D. in a relevant field earned within the past 5 years with 0 years of experience.
- Demonstrated research experience in computational biology, data science, bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, or molecular biology.
- Experience analyzing complex biomedical datasets.
- Proficiency in programming and data analysis tools used in biomedical research (e.g., R, Python).
- Experience with the use or development of reproducible computational workflows.
- Strong scientific communication skills, including experience with scientific publication and presentation.
- Ability to work independently under a mentor and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Submission of a one-page research proposal detailing the planned use of two or more CFDE datasets.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research focusing on computational, bioinformatics, and statistical approaches to address complex biological questions.
- Engage regularly with a selected mentor to leverage CFDE data and resources and discuss research progress.
- Develop publications, conference presentations, and reproducible workflows for the CFDE and research communities.
- Participate in CFDE annual meetings, events, and community-facing activities.
- Perform other assigned research tasks as needed.
