Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or an additional 4 years of experience.
- 8+ years of professional experience developing backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, or Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs with authentication and authorization.
- Experience with image-centric workflows, object storage, and metadata management.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities such as computer vision, OCR, extraction, or redaction.
- Knowledge of secure cloud engineering practices, IAM, and secrets management.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Strong troubleshooting and production-support capabilities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust designation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based backend applications using modern engineering practices.
- Build and operate GCP solutions using serverless and container-based technologies.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs with focus on authentication, documentation, and versioning.
- Implement image processing pipelines for capture, ingestion, metadata extraction, and storage.
- Integrate AI capabilities including computer vision, OCR, and similarity search into production applications.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Apply secure engineering practices including IAM, encryption, and secrets management.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
- Implement observability through logging, metrics, and alerting.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
