Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience (an additional four years of experience qualifies).
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience as a Technical Lead, Technical Architect, senior engineer, or comparable technical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executives and senior management.
  • Strong experience guiding development teams through architecture decisions, implementation approaches, and engineering standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct effective code and technical design reviews with a focus on readability, security, and performance.
  • Strong knowledge of modern architecture approaches, including microservices, event-driven systems, and API-first design.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise security and compliance fundamentals, including IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with business stakeholders, project leaders, and governance teams.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including architecture diagrams and technical decision records.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted software development and establishing practical safeguards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for one or more application teams, setting architectural direction, engineering standards, design guidance, and delivery expectations.
  • Translate complex technical concepts, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations into clear, actionable information for executive and management audiences.
  • Partner with business analysts, technical project leaders, and managers to define solution scope, technical approaches, effort estimates, and delivery plans.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and technology leadership to ensure solutions align with established architecture patterns, integration standards, security controls, and platform requirements.
  • Develop and maintain solution architecture documentation, including reference architectures, integration and data-flow diagrams, environment topologies, and architecture decision records.
  • Lead or participate in code reviews and technical design reviews, ensuring solutions meet expectations for quality, security, performance, testability, and maintainability.
  • Establish engineering best practices covering CI/CD, branching strategies, testing, release readiness, operational support, and development standards.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend improvements that are practical within organizational standards and technical constraints.
  • Promote responsible AI-assisted development by identifying opportunities to accelerate analysis, documentation, code and test generation, refactoring, code reviews, defect triage, and operational troubleshooting.
