Requirements
- 4-6 years in a BI Engineering or Analytics Engineering role or equivalent technology industry experience
- Advanced to Expert SQL proficiency
- Proficiency with data visualization using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R for analytics
- Experience building data warehouses and modeling data through ETL pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Experience with project management and supporting relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Curious mindset and ability to seek truth through data
- MS in an appropriate technology field (Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, etc.) or equivalent experience
- Experience building AI-ready data models and semantic layers preferred
- Experience working in consumer-facing app environments preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance to maintain the quality of our data; in particular, take ownership of our reporting data pipeline and business logic
- Manage complexity when data sources tell different stories
- Diagnose changes in KPIs and help identify drivers
- Create clear and easy-to-understand analysis and recommendations
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency in BI infrastructure
- Perform deep-dive analytics on ad-hoc requests from stakeholders across the organization
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide actionable insights on MyFitnessPal users
- Architect data models to further our data democratization efforts and contribute to our reporting “curated zone” architecture
- Develop strong relationships with our partners in Data Engineering to manage projects that unlock data for the BI team
- Be a trusted partner to our marketing and product BA teams and the core business functions they support
