Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
- 3+ years managing data engineering, machine learning, and data science teams.
- Hands-on experience managing GCP data infrastructure.
- Extensive proficiency with columnar SQL warehouses (BigQuery or Snowflake).
- Experience with ELT tools like Dataform or dbt.
- Proficiency with orchestrators like Apache Airflow.
- Expertise in designing complex SQL/Python pipelines using parallelized processing frameworks (Dataflow, Spark, or similar).
- Experience with core data modeling techniques such as dimensional and star schema.
- Deep familiarity with DevOps and SDLC practices including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog or New Relic.
- Track record of guiding teams through the full ML lifecycle (MLOps).
- Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
Responsibilities
- Manage, hire, and coach a team of data engineers and applied data scientists.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Serve as a thought partner on leveraging data, AI, and automation for product and operational improvements.
- Drive the architecture and delivery of scalable batch and streaming pipelines.
- Oversee productionization of ML models and algorithmic systems.
- Champion data reliability, quality, privacy, and governance through self-service tools.
- Improve system performance, debugging speed, and deployment velocity.
