Requirements
- High School Diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 11 years of relevant post-education drafting and design support experience.
- Advanced knowledge of drafting and design principles, methods, and techniques for lattice towers.
- Advanced proficiency with 2D and 3D CADD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bocad, ProjectWise).
- Advanced knowledge of industry codes and regulations including ASCE, AISC, and NESC.
- Strong technical computation skills involving geometry and mathematical concepts.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and factual comparisons against standards.
- Proven analytical mindset and ability to perform complex problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills.
- Proficiency with office automation software, spreadsheets, and technical writing.
- Ability to travel occasionally based on project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and generate detailed lattice tower structural models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, erection drawings, member detailing, and BOM packages.
- Generate and validate design-phase deliverables, steel detailing packages, 2D/3D CADD layouts, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate with transmission and structural engineers and fabricators to ensure constructability, manufacturability, and standards compliance (ASCE, AISC, NESC).
- Analyze as-built drawings, loading data, and technical specifications to support tower design and utility infrastructure projects.
- Serve as a technical resource for tower drafting methodologies and resolve design conflicts or technical issues.
- Monitor QA/QC reviews, maintain project documentation, and ensure contract compliance throughout design phases.
- Mentor junior designers on Auto-CADD modeling, Bocad modeling, and transmission line design principles.
