Requirements
- 2+ years of telecommunications experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings, fiber optic materials, construction methods, and OTDR traces.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Experience in the use of fiber optic network inventory systems and GIS applications such as Google Earth, AutoCAD, QGIS, or ArcGIS.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Professional communication skills.
- Ability to pass a standard background check.
- Provide at least 2 professional references.
Responsibilities
- Review construction documents to ensure the physical and logical network is accurately reflected in the inventory management system; conduct regular quality assurance audits on data integrity.
- Design complex fiber optic splicing plans based on customer specifications; translate requirements into detailed engineering designs for implementation by vendors and contractors.
- Utilize network inventory data and construction documentation to collaborate with project managers and construction vendors to execute network designs.
- Review, interpret, and analyze post-construction and maintenance OTDR test traces at various wavelengths.
- Audit contractor close-out packages to ensure fiber specifications are met and resolve any technical discrepancies with vendors.
- Provide remote tier-2 and tier-3 technical support for field crews to troubleshoot real-time testing and splicing issues.
