Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license (Science)
- Ability to obtain West Virginia reciprocity within 60 days of employment
- Ability to clear required background check
- Experience working with middle school age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) or brick-and-mortar environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work collaboratively to interpret student data and drive instructional decisions
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
Responsibilities
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students and demonstrate belief in their ability to succeed
- Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery
- Maintain grade book, ensure academic integrity, and make student placement and promotion decisions
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and provide regular communication
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues
- Travel as required (on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time) for face-to-face professional development and testing
