Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience processing prior authorizations
- Minimum of 2 years experience communicating with insurance companies via phone
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong teamwork capabilities, self-motivation, and reliability
- Experience processing PAs for acute hospital outpatient ancillary services (preferred)
- Experience working remotely (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Obtain timely prior authorization or pre-determinations from all commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage insurance plans.
- Select accurate and pertinent medical records from patients' charts within client EMRs.
- Obtain demographic information and verify insurance details.
- Provide required clinical information to insurance companies to facilitate the authorization process.
- Document all prior authorization follow-ups and determinations in company software or client EMRs.
- Maintain an internal list of insurance carrier authorization processes and contact information.
