Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering (or similar) with 3+ years experience in a consultancy, OR Master's/PhD with 2+ years experience.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and hydraulics.
  • Familiarity with data center mechanical systems and cooling technologies (e.g., CRAHs, liquid cooling).
  • Familiarity with CFD tools (e.g., Cadence Reality DC Design, Star CCM+, ANSYS Fluent) sufficient for oversight and review.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to manage direct reports and interact with clients.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, distraction-free environment.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time, potentially within all 50 US states.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as direct people manager for the CFD team, including performance reviews and hiring.
  • Provide technical oversight for CFD analysis scope, methodology, and modeling strategy.
  • Coordinate QA/QC reviews for reports and deliverables.
  • Represent the CFD team in client meetings regarding scope, risk, and strategy.
  • Track project financial performance, profitability, and resource utilization.
  • Provide weekly summaries of team status, risks, and priorities to the Design Director.
