Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
- Deep practical experience with high-throughput streaming or time-series data.
- Expertise in Kafka partitioning, consumer groups, rebalancing, and schema evolution.
- Strong SQL and time-series database skills (TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, InfluxDB, or equivalent).
- Experience designing secure, low-latency APIs using GraphQL and REST.
- Proven history of performing live system migrations without downtime.
- Fluency in TypeScript/Node.js (NestJS) and AWS cloud infrastructure (ECS, IoT Core, networking).
- Experience with Terraform/IaC.
- Ability to become productive in Go quickly for latency-sensitive paths.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Stabilise and cost-optimise the telemetry path to maintain latency and throughput targets.
- Extend the GraphQL contract to support new product features while maintaining performance.
- Act as a senior voice in incident response and reduce operational support load.
- Collaborate with firmware, service, and commercial teams to turn telemetry into actionable tooling.
- Design and maintain secure, low-latency APIs (GraphQL and REST).
