Requirements

  • 7+ years in Software Engineering, with 3+ years in SRE, Platform Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience with Government or Sovereign Cloud environments (e.g., Azure Government, AWS GovCloud).
  • Experience in regulated compliance environments (e.g., FedRAMP, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOX).
  • Strong experience building and running production services on cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred).
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: TypeScript/JS, Go, Java, C#.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, or Pulumi.
  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK stack).
  • Solid grasp of distributed systems, networking, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Ability to learn complex platforms independently through documentation and code.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and document platform workloads, dependencies, and risk areas through existing code, documentation, and architecture artifacts.
  • Design high-availability and fault-tolerant infrastructure on Azure Government.
  • Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for VDC workloads.
  • Execute incident response processes and conduct blameless postmortems.
  • Identify reliability risks in modern and legacy workloads and build remediation plans aligned with compliance constraints.
  • Establish observability standards, define instrumentation requirements, and drive implementation.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and configuration management for compliance-restricted environments.
  • Mentor other engineers and promote SRE practices across the organization.
