Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production web applications or backend services
- Deep proficiency in at least one modern language/framework (e.g., Ruby on Rails, React/Node.js, Rust, Python/Django, Java, Go, C#/.NET)
- Experience designing and implementing APIs (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC)
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and database design/optimization
- Strong testing and debugging discipline (e.g., RSpec/Minitest, Jest/RTL)
- Ability to work independently and scope features or full projects from requirements
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for client management
- Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows
- Understanding of accessibility, security, and scalable design principles
- Flexibility to move between languages, frameworks, and problem domains
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications, APIs, and backend services for client engagements
- Work across a variety of languages and frameworks depending on client needs and your strengths
- Architect service-oriented, microservices, or event-driven solutions
- Identify and remediate technical debt in legacy applications
- Communicate directly with clients, lead demos, and gather requirements
- Collaborate in an agile team with regular stand-ups
- Conduct code reviews and maintain testing/debugging practices
- Contribute to internal best practices and documentation
