Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP, AGNP, or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP preferred).
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Pennsylvania.
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
- Experience managing patients with obesity or metabolic disease.
- Knowledge of GLP-1 receptor agonists and other anti-obesity medications.
- Experience with medication titration, monitoring, and patient education.
- Strong clinical judgment and evidence-based decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote telehealth environment.
- Comfortable using electronic health records and telehealth platforms.
- Collaborative mindset for working in an interdisciplinary care model.
- Flexibility to help build new clinical programs and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive 40-minute initial patient evaluations for medical weight management.
- Provide 20-minute follow-up visits focused on medication management, titration, monitoring, and ongoing clinical support.
- Evaluate patients for appropriate GLP-1 therapy and prescribe medications within scope of practice.
- Monitor treatment response, side effects, laboratory findings, and overall patient progress.
- Collaborate closely with referring Primary Care Providers and Registered Dietitians to coordinate individualized care plans.
- Educate patients on medication expectations, safety, lifestyle changes, and long-term weight management.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation within electronic health record systems.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.
