Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 12 years experience, OR Associate Degree with 10 years experience, OR Bachelor's Degree with 8 years experience.
- Minimum 4 years of direct leadership experience.
- Minimum 7 years of SAP Employee Central Payroll experience.
- Minimum 7+ years of multi-state payroll experience.
- Proven experience managing payroll vendors and third-party service providers.
- Experience leading enterprise payroll operations in a large, complex organization.
- Advanced skills in reporting, analytics, and workforce planning.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
- Experience leading payroll transformations, optimizations, and M&A integrations preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise payroll operations across multiple payroll schedules, business units, and employee populations.
- Develop payroll governance, policies, procedures, and controls to ensure operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and manage risk assessments.
- Oversee payroll processing operations, service delivery, and performance metrics (KPIs).
- Lead, coach, and develop payroll staff while managing workforce planning and succession.
- Manage vendor relationships and payroll technology strategy, including system upgrades and integrations.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Tax, and Legal teams to provide payroll expertise and strategic support.
- Execute due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and lead payroll transformation initiatives.
