Requirements

  • MD or DO in Psychiatry.
  • Dual Board Certification in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Active Medical License in state of employment and willingness to obtain additional licensure as requested.
  • Experience building and leading multi-disciplinary teams and supervising clinical team members.
  • Previous leadership and/or administrative roles in clinical organizations or innovative care models.
  • Experience with change management and process improvement theory, techniques, and practical application.
  • Experience using a metrics-driven approach to analyze cost, quality, and satisfaction data.
  • Comfort using an electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license and access to an insured vehicle for daily use.
  • Fellowship in consult liaison Psychiatry (plus).
  • Fellowship/additional training or experience in addiction medicine (plus).
  • 3+ years in an outpatient mental health practice and/or primary care setting (preferred).
  • Experience/additional training in Collaborative Care models (preferred).
  • Experience working in value-based care settings or managed care (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the psychiatric consultant for Psych APCs and Behavioral Health Clinicians within Collaborative Care and Bridge Care models.
  • Provide psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and oversee evidence-based medication management for DSM-5 conditions.
  • Partner with BH managers to ensure effective panel management, timely follow-ups, and treatment-to-target adjustments.
  • Conduct in-depth chart reviews and data analysis to ensure clinical care plans address avoidable utilization and total cost of care.
  • Collaborate with external psychiatrists, PCPs, and specialists to maintain aligned, patient-centered care plans.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and coach Med-Psych APCs on clinical care through observation and documentation review.
  • Provide direct medical and psychiatric care for patients in Bridge and Advanced Behavioral Health programs.
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Lead or support pilots to enhance the care model and contribute to product and technology development.
