- Minimum two (2) years of southwestern archaeology border project experience preferred
Requirements
- Degree in Anthropology or a related field.
- Must be based in Southwestern Arizona.
- Knowledge of Arizona cultural resources.
- Archaeological monitoring experience on construction sites.
- Archaeological survey experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work remotely with limited supervision.
- Reliable transportation with a clean driving record.
- Eligible for federal projects (U.S. citizen with no felonies).
- Minimum two years of southwestern archaeology border project experience preferred.
- Meet the Secretary of the Interior’s professional qualifications standards for archaeology preferred.
- RPA status or eligibility preferred.
Responsibilities
- Identify and target locations of sensitive cultural resources and mark areas for avoidance and buffer zones.
- Conduct archaeological monitoring and surveys in accordance with research designs.
- Prepare daily and weekly cultural resource monitoring summaries, photo-documentation, and maps.
- Evaluate and record accurate field notes, maps, logs, and other project documentation.
- Perform quality control of field data on a daily basis.
- Use electronic and traditional navigational equipment like GPS, iPad, ArcCollector, and Survey 123.
- Procure and maintain field equipment, technology, and vehicles.
- Collaborate with other project staff such as environmental monitors and construction crews.
