Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Less than one year (Entry) or 2 years (Level 2) of experience in the electric utility industry.
- Experience running power system load flow studies in PSSE.
- Experience running transfer analysis systems studies.
- Experience using TARA.
- Ability to write technical reports of in-depth analysis.
- Experience with Python, VBA, or another programming language.
- Experience creating queries in Access, Oracle, or SQL.
Responsibilities
- Provides electrical engineering analysis for the interconnection of new generation resources.
- Performs Powerflow studies to analyze the feasibility of proposed generation interconnections.
- Reviews interconnection applications to ensure compliance with Planning Guides, Protocols, and technical requirements.
- Analyzes results of simulated power system studies against actual operating data.
- Develops solutions to current or future system issues.
- Identifies process improvements for interconnection study workflows and data management.
- Communicates requirements and results to stakeholders.
- Tracks project milestones from study request through commercial operation.
