Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in tax compliance and reporting, preferably with exposure to Canadian and US tax regulations.
Experience with corporate tax, sales tax, VAT, and cross-border tax matters.
Experience with transfer pricing and international tax principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (FinancialForce / Certinia) (An asset).
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills in French and English to liaise with internal stakeholders and external tax authorities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate tax returns in collaboration with external tax specialists, sales tax (GST/HST, VAT), and other regulatory reports across Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
Monitor obligations and proceed with relevant tax and regulatory registrations required for Canadian, U.S., and European operations.
Perform reconciliations of tax accounts, including deferred taxes, tax liabilities, and tax provisions.
Assess tax implications of intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and withholding taxes.
Maintain up-to-date records of all tax processes, compliance obligations, and reporting requirements to ensure transparency and continuity.
Conduct research on available grants, tax credits, and government incentives applicable to the company and assist in the application process where relevant.
Liaise with tax authorities and advisors during regulatory reviews, if any.
Monitor and interpret tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions to ensure full compliance.
Identify opportunities to streamline tax compliance and reporting processes through automation and best practices.
