Requirements:
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Security+ or higher-level certification.
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle database management.
- Strong understanding of AWS architecture, networking, and security concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud-native tools such as AWS RDS, Aurora, DMS, and CloudWatch.
- Expertise in backup, recovery, and high availability solutions like Oracle Data Guard and RAC.
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages for automation.
- Understanding of government compliance requirements and ability to implement secure database architectures in AWS GovCloud.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the migration of Oracle databases and applications from on-premises environments to the cloud, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity during the transition.
- Manage and maintain Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Work with cloud architects and engineering teams to design secure, scalable, and highly available Oracle database solutions in the cloud, considering government compliance standards.
- Continuously monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply best practices to optimize Oracle databases in the cloud environment.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery, backup strategies, and high availability solutions for Oracle databases, leveraging tools like Oracle Data Guard, AWS RDS, or EC2-based solutions.
- Ensure all Oracle databases adhere to relevant security and compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST), implementing encryption, auditing, and access controls as needed.
- Use automation tools and scripting (e.g., AWS Lambda, Python, Bash) to streamline database management tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including cloud engineers, application developers, and security experts, to facilitate the smooth migration of on-premise applications and databases to the cloud.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on Oracle database configurations, migration procedures, disaster recovery plans, and security implementations. Provide detailed reports and progress updates to stakeholders.
