Requirements:

• Must be currently barred in New York.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school is required.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience litigating New York labor law actions.

Responsibilities:

• Litigating New York Labor Law cases from inception to resolution, including handling all aspects of pleadings, discovery, depositions, court appearances, motions, mediations, etc.
• Engaging in all aspects of risk transfer (tendering to appropriate parties and carriers, commencing third-party actions, litigating issues with respect to indemnification and insurance coverage, etc.)
• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and other court filings with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Accurately track and record time worked while understanding and applying billable hours principles to ensure proper invoicing and compliance.
• Conduct thorough research on applicable laws, regulations, and case precedents to develop effective legal strategies.
• Act as the primary point of contact with claims representatives and insured clients to share legal strategies and insights, providing guidance and support throughout the litigation process. Develop and present clear, concise, and actionable legal opinions and strategies.
• Overseeing and mentoring junior attorneys and collaborating with partners on strategy for complex construction labor law cases.
