- Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, Operations Research, or related fields, ideally with specialization in Electricity Systems or Markets.
- Knowledge of PLEXOS or other optimization tools.
- 5-7 years of experience in energy markets with a strong understanding of energy economics.
- Experience in market supply and demand modelling using optimization tools like PLEXOS, BID3, Antaras, SDDP, or PROMOD.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport.
- Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven and results-oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to power trading customers by helping them build models that support trading decisions.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions to understand business goals.
- Design and implement innovative modelling approaches using PLEXOS tailored to trading needs.
- Provide guidance on best practices for market modelling.
- Analyze modelling outputs with customers and recommend adjustments.
- Develop, test, and calibrate models for accurate insights.
- Train trading teams on PLEXOS usage.
- Partner with sales teams for prospective customer engagement and create Proof of Concept studies.
- Deliver presentations and training for trading audiences.
- Collaborate with product teams to enhance PLEXOS for trading applications.
- Conduct market research to generate insights on power trading.
