Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or applicable sales leadership experience.
- Ideally 8+ years of Retail Sales management experience with Hardware or Home Improvement/DIY Centers.
- Strong understanding of financial principles.
- Ability to cultivate new business and possess multifaceted persuasion skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills at high organizational levels.
- Well-organized with the capacity to coordinate remote project execution.
- Proficient in MS Office products and sales CRM systems like salesforce.com.
- Strong written presentation skills using computer-based tools.
- Ideally experience with electrical or mechanical products.
- Ability to work remotely from a home office and travel 50% of the time, including weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the retail sales team in meeting sales budgets and developing relationships throughout the organization.
- Sync the business unit with key account initiatives to create growth opportunities.
- Leverage customer systems to affect results within National Hardware Co-Ops and regional big box stores.
- Meet or exceed annual Retail Sales budget by account and lead profitability through item mix and pricing.
- Identify product and promotion opportunities and communicate them internally.
- Directly manage big box retail accounts and develop relationships with customers.
- Negotiate annual customer contracts for pricing and program support.
- Lead project management for major line reviews in a cross-functional environment.
- Develop and communicate key account growth strategies, working with finance to evaluate customer profitability.
- Guide SKU productivity reviews and monitor inventory levels.
- Maintain service levels by adhering to forecasting processes.
- Direct management of Retail National Sales Managers.
