Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years industry experience in selling into the higher education, education technology or research marketplace.
  • 5+ years industry experience as a sales leader in managing and leading sales teams to deliver proven growth.
  • Master’s degree in business administration or other relevant advanced degrees (preferred).
  • Experience running at least a $75 million dollar territory with hundreds of academic/research accounts in your portfolio (preferred).
  • Experience selling information services and solutions, strategic consulting, enterprise software or enterprise analytics (preferred).
  • Documented history of driving revenue growth within accounts/territories managed.
  • Knowledge of forecasting, deal cadence and deal management principles.
  • Experience and history of effective team performance management.
  • Strategic relationship development skills.
  • Advanced negotiations skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office resources and strong knowledge and experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
Responsibilities:
  • Directly manage a team of about 5 individual contributor direct reports and coordinate all sales activities with our specialist, renewal, and customer success teams.
  • Lead, direct, and review the work of the teams to achieve operational or functional targets with significant contribution towards immediate and long-term results for the department and organization.
  • Influence diverse stakeholder groups and drive acceptance of policies, practices, and procedures within a broader area of responsibility.
  • Shape strategic initiatives at the department level and provide significant input on strategic initiatives for the organization.
  • Deliver consistent and timely coaching, guidance, and feedback to encourage success and promote growth through regular developmental conversations and identification of opportunities.
  • Own decision-making for staffing decisions for the teams.
