REDD+ Technical Consultant - GHG Accounting Experience Required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in international development or environment-related field required; graduate degree in relevant disciplines strongly preferred.
• 3-4 years of relevant experience using GIS and remote sensing for GHG accounting.
• Extensive knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS and QGIS).
• Experience with forest inventories and field data collection.
• Familiarity with geostatistical techniques in natural resource management.
• Experience with Google Earth Engine (JavaScript/Python) preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of statistics and modeling, including machine learning.
• Proficiency in R/Python for data management and analysis.
• Ability to effectively support project operations and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the GHG measurement and monitoring in forest systems.
• Support carbon accounting and credit yield estimation for REDD+ projects.
• Conduct innovative analyses and apply methods relevant to international policy related to REDD+.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations translating complex topics.
• Provide training in methodologies and best practices.
• Develop and manage database systems.
• Support statistical analyses for uncertainty estimations.
