Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
• In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of relevant experience may suffice.
• Experience building scalable software platforms and developing in Java.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with Microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for production issues.
• Ability to construct maintainable software components and focus on quality.
• Effective verbal and written communicator, able to present to various audiences.
• Capability to work with cross-functional teams to clarify technical ambiguities.

Responsibilities:

• Define and deliver well-scoped milestones for projects, serving as a technical lead.
• Consider customer needs and collaborate with product stakeholders for technical solutions.
• Mentor and support less-experienced team members, demonstrating best practices.
• Write clear, high-quality code with adaptability to changing requirements.
• Identify and address gaps, challenging existing processes and proposing innovative ideas.
• Lead design for components/features and work on larger system design.
• Maintain significant ownership of system components/features and ensure simplicity in design.
• Engage in on-call coverage responsibilities.
