๐ Financial Crimes Compliance
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in financial crimes compliance and AML at a regulated financial institution or consultancy firm is required.
- Previous experience working with Blockchain Transaction Monitoring solutions, such as Elliptic or Chainalysis, is advantageous.
- Understanding of cryptocurrencies is advantageous but not required, as training will be provided.
- Knowledge of international money laundering, sanctions, and terrorist financing. regulations, with a focus on their application to the crypto asset industry, is highly advantageous.
- Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written.
- Flexibility.
- Candidates must have access to an appropriate laptop with a camera or a webcam and a phone capable of running Google authenticator software.
- Strong and reliable WiFi connection.
- Candidates must be prepared to submit to further background / security checks if required.
- Analyze internal system generated alerts for transaction patterns and behaviors to assess whether they align with typical customer activity or indicate potential money laundering, fraud, or other financial crime risks.
- Conduct holistic alert assessment into customer accounts flagged for unusual, or potentially suspicious or illicit activity.
- Escalate unusual or potentially suspicious account activity to Level 2 teams, such as the Financial Intelligence Unit, for an in-depth investigation.
- Review transactions, crypto addresses and customer risk ratings, conduct applicable screenings (e.g. Sanctions, Terrorist Financing, DarkNet, etc.), analyze counterparty information, and make final decisions to approve, reject, or escalate transactional activity.
- Conduct transactional analysis using crypto-specific data analytics to extract valuable insights from blockchain data and identify potential violations.
- Ensure the data for all transactions conducted through our services are uploaded to and screened through Transaction Monitoring tools.
- Ensure that internal and external transaction triggers are working according to set rules. Report and coordinate with internal stakeholders to address identified issues for timely management and mitigation.
- Assist in developing fraud and money laundering prevention strategies, identify controls requiring improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay up-to-date with the evolving regulatory landscape for crypto assets, including international standards and best practices.
- Deliver training to new joiners.
- Ad-hoc projects as required.
