Engineering at Anaplan
Anaplan's core technology is the patented Hyperblock engine, an in-memory database and calculation engine. This technology optimizes performance by processing only necessary data points, ensuring real-time data synchronization across models without recalculating entire models for every change. The Hyperblock engine supports multi-dimensional calculations, handling vast datasets efficiently. Engineers at Anaplan address challenges such as managing complex data sets, ensuring model scalability, and integrating data from various sources like ERP, CRM, and data warehouses. This involves overcoming issues like data format mismatches, API limitations, and performance bottlenecks. The platform also uses tools like Anaplan Connect for automated imports and exports and Anaplan REST APIs for real-time data synchronization. Continuous learning is crucial as the platform and best practices evolve.
