Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Have 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or enterprise data engineering.
- Have hands-on experience designing Azure data platforms using ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, and SQL.
- Demonstrate experience integrating EHR, CRM, and financial systems.
- Have experience with EHR vendor databases such as Netsmart Avatar NX, Epic, Cerner, or similar.
- Have hands-on experience reverse engineering undocumented or poorly documented schemas, identifying relationships and linkages, reconstructing models, and building ERDs from live databases.
- Translate complex clinical and billing data structures into usable enterprise models.
- Work with stakeholders to validate inferred logic, including encounter flows, billing rules, and documentation timing.
- Have strong expertise in relational and dimensional data modeling and experience establishing canonical models across clinical, financial, and operational domains.
- Have experience implementing data governance frameworks, lineage, and data quality controls.
- Have advanced SQL Server expertise, including querying, schema analysis, and performance tuning.
- Have experience with large, complex, highly normalized transactional systems.
- Be proficient with Git and version management, including branching strategies, pull requests, and versioning data models, pipelines, and schema definitions.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end Azure data architecture across ingestion, staging, curated, and reporting layers.
- Define enterprise data domains and canonical data models for clinical, revenue cycle, CRM, and finance data.
- Reverse engineer and document the Avatar NX data model, including table structures, relationships, data flows, and mappings to normalized structures.
- Define integration patterns across Avatar NX, Salesforce, and financial systems.
- Standardize data contracts and exchange patterns, including batch, API, and event-driven approaches.
- Establish standards for naming, definitions, and data quality, and implement governance for billing rules and derived logic.
- Lead development of a data catalog, business glossary, and lineage framework.
- Manage data models, pipelines, and architecture artifacts through enterprise source control practices.
- Define Azure architecture for tracking inferred rule outcomes and enabling reconciliation between NX and downstream financial systems.
- Partner with Finance, RCM, Operations, IT, and Analytics leadership, and guide Data Modelers, Developers, and DBAs.
