Requirements
- Have solid experience with at least one programming language; the team uses Go, and familiarity with Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar translates well.
- Have some experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and brainstorming through shipping a product to customers.
- Have some experience developing software that runs in the cloud or in systems engineering.
- Write clean, robust, performant software that is maintainable by others.
- Be able to break down complex challenges into modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate.
- Be able to work independently in a fully remote team setup.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems.
- Own the reliability, performance, and availability of services.
- Work with the team to deliver features and iterate based on results.
- Drive projects from initial ideation through operations after customer release.
- Contribute to open-source projects beyond the team's direct scope.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotations and take ownership of running services.
- Mentor and support teammates and participate in design discussions.
- Learn the cloud product, its customers, and the codebase of a large distributed system.
