Requirements
- Have 1.5 or more years of experience as a software engineer.
- Have experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
- Be proficient in Python or Kotlin.
- Be familiar with distributed systems building blocks.
- Be familiar with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Translate business scenarios into solutions that interact with multiple software components.
- Write clear, understandable, well-tested, and extensible code.
- Navigate a large codebase and debug other engineers’ code.
- Provide feedback to other engineers through code reviews.
- Demonstrate ownership of professional growth and proactively seek feedback.
- Have a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Break larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases with support from the team’s tech lead and manager.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation and product development.
- Articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions that account for risks and trade-offs.
- Create and monitor metrics supporting the operations and availability of the team’s systems.
- Escalate operational issues and support on-call and keep-the-lights-on efforts.
- Participate in team growth and development activities, including interviewing.
