Requirements
- Have 7+ years in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales or consulting role.
- Have experience building distributed data systems.
- Be comfortable programming in and debugging Python and SQL.
- Have built solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Have expertise in data engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka, or in data science and machine learning technologies such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Be available to travel to customers in your region.
- A degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research is desired.
- Databricks Certification is a nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales team to provide technical leadership and help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems.
- Consult on big data architectures.
- Implement proof of concepts for strategic projects across data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows.
- Validate integrations with cloud services, home-grown tools, and third-party applications.
- Collaborate with fellow Solutions Architects to support each other and users.
- Become an expert in Databricks-inspired open-source projects, including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
- Promote Databricks-inspired open-source projects and recruit contributors from the developer community.
