Requirements
- Have 5-10 years of advanced CAD electrical design experience within the gas transmission industry.
- Have intermediate knowledge of generating 2D drawings with AutoCAD.
- Understand file structure, specifications, and industry and client standards related to assigned projects.
- Be able to carry out electrical wire and cable size calculations.
- Design electrical systems and instrumentation in compliance with NEC requirements.
- Be able to develop and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Be able to self-manage workload and supervise a small design team.
- Revit, visual lighting, Excel, and Bluebeam experience is a plus.
- An associate degree, related technical school courses, or equivalent experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Generate 2D AutoCAD drawings for installation details, panel layouts, and equipment and instrument wiring schematics for pipeline and facility projects.
- Develop CAD designs from general instruction through detailed completion.
- Coordinate with drafters to prepare and assemble project deliverables.
- Insert field notes, survey data, design information, vendor information, and engineering schematics.
- Set up sheets, title blocks, notes, and details as part of drawing packages.
- Carry out electrical wire and cable size calculations.
- Design electrical systems and instrumentation in compliance with NEC requirements.
- Develop and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Manage workload and supervise a small design team to execute results.
- Complete projects within budget.
