Requirements
- Have production experience developing with Python and PostgreSQL.
- Have experience developing and operating in AWS environments, including cloud-native architecture patterns and common cloud operational practices.
- Be familiar with cloud security practices including access control, patch management, secrets handling, and secure service configuration.
- Have experience with static analysis and code scanning tools such as SonarQube and maintaining code quality gates.
- Be able to diagnose and resolve issues across application code, infrastructure, containers, databases, and cloud services.
- Have used AI-augmented development tools such as Claude, Codex, or similar coding assistants in real production work, and review and verify their output.
- Be able to work independently on moderately complex technical problems while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Have English proficiency at C1 level.
- Preferred: experience with JavaScript and a modern frontend framework such as React or Angular.
- Preferred: experience with Java, Linux, Docker, or software in a regulated domain.
- Preferred: experience with database performance troubleshooting, schema changes, or data migration.
- Preferred: experience improving CI/CD, HA/DR, monitoring, alerting, incident response, or agentic engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable and resilient backend architecture to support growth, high processing volumes, and new products.
- Apply cloud security best practices across services, infrastructure, automation, access control, and deployment processes.
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and technical debt in backend services and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with component teams on integration activities.
- Document technical decisions, risks, and operational procedures for other teams.
