Requirements
- Have at least 3 years of experience administering AWS cloud environments for production applications.
- Have at least 3 years of experience deploying and operating containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
- Have at least 3 years of experience provisioning infrastructure as code with Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Have at least 3 years of experience in production cloud operations, monitoring, and incident management.
- Have at least 3 years of experience operating production IT applications within railway operational processes.
- Have minimum B2 proficiency in German and fluent English.
- Bring practical experience with Grafana, OpenSearch, Helm, and Flux.
- Have working knowledge of AWS IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, and PostgreSQL on AWS RDS.
- Have scripting skills with Python and AWS Lambda.
- Have experience with Amazon MSK (Kafka) and Kubernetes node scaling via Karpenter.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and optimize production applications and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Handle production incidents, troubleshoot outages, and conduct root-cause analysis for railway operational systems.
- Provision and automate infrastructure using Terraform and OpenTofu.
- Administer, upgrade, and optimize Kubernetes clusters, including node scaling with Karpenter.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Helm, and Flux within a GitOps model.
- Configure AWS IAM roles and security policies, and manage encryption keys and secrets using KMS and Secrets Manager.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Amazon MSK (Kafka) and PostgreSQL databases on AWS RDS.
- Build and maintain observability, metric dashboards, and log analysis using Grafana and OpenSearch.
- Automate operational workflows and dependency updates using Python, AWS Lambda, and Renovate.
- Maintain technical runbooks, operating procedures, and architectural documentation.
