Requirements
- Have at least 6 years of direct experience as an engineer supporting a hybrid or remote workforce of at least 50 employees.
- Have a strong history managing mission-critical Azure Virtual Desktops and application-specific servers.
- Have deep, hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including conditional access, provisioning, identity governance, and general administration.
- Have experience managing a distributed endpoint and mobile device fleet using Intune, NinjaOne, Workspace ONE, or comparable tools.
- Demonstrate a track record of using PowerShell to administer Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Demonstrate a zero-trust security mindset in IT service delivery and solution engineering.
- Have strong customer service skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues in plain language.
- Be able to perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing indoor ladders, crawling under furniture, and reaching behind wall-mounted equipment.
- Be comfortable working fully remotely and traveling to the offices in California as described in the posting.
- Bonus experience includes supporting CAD and GIS applications, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.
- Bonus experience includes Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-140, AZ-305, AZ-700, SC-200, SC-300, SC-401, MS-102, or MD-102.
- Bonus experience includes CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, CCPA, SOC 2, ITSM, or ITIL; platform migrations; IAM automation integrations; data retention policies; or UniFi Network and Protect.
Responsibilities
- Own the Azure environment, including Azure Virtual Desktop and virtual servers; manage images, patching, capacity, backups, performance, and software versions.
- Deploy virtual machine monitoring and alerts, and perform root-cause analysis of virtual infrastructure issues.
- Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and data governance.
- Administer Entra ID, SSO, conditional access, authentication, dynamic groups, and guest access governance.
- Automate identity lifecycle processes and maintain SCIM provisioning across SaaS applications.
- Manage Windows and limited Mac endpoints and mobile devices, including enrollment, policies, application deployment, and patching.
- Automate IT processes using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and other platforms; collaborate on Claude AI implementation.
- Partner with the Director to build and administer security operations capabilities and participate in incident response.
- Serve as a final escalation point for complex IT support requests and participate in an on-call rotation for critical outages.
- Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and system configuration documentation, and follow change management practices.
