Requirements
- Have 4+ years of data engineering experience, including ownership of a production warehouse.
- Bring strong SQL and Python skills, including PySpark.
- Have hands-on Redshift experience, including performance tuning, dimensional modeling, and SCDs.
- Have strong dbt knowledge, including models, tests, sources, and incremental processing.
- Have experience with Segment or a similar customer data platform.
- Have solid AWS experience, including S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EMR, and Aurora/RDS.
- Have experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, SAM, or Terraform, and with CI/CD.
- Demonstrate a track record of building reliable, scalable data pipelines.
- Have hands-on experience preparing data for ML or AI use, such as feature engineering, training data, or model serving.
- Have English proficiency of at least B2.
- Candidates must be EU citizens and reside in Poland.
Responsibilities
- Support daily platform operations, including pipeline failures, data fixes, and new data requests.
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using AWS, PySpark, SQL, and dbt.
- Develop ingestion processes for new sources, including Rails service databases on Aurora Postgres and SQS.
- Own and evolve Segment tracking, event schemas, and downstream data integrations.
- Ensure consistency between Redshift and Braze, Amplitude, AppsFlyer, and Looker.
- Optimize Redshift performance and cost.
- Maintain existing ML models, build feature pipelines and training datasets, and put models into production on SageMaker.
- Support AI projects, including LLM-based tools and Claude Code skills used by analysts.
- Manage the platform as code with AWS SAM and CloudFormation, and contribute to CI/CD automation.
- Agree metric definitions with analytics, finance, and product; improve dbt models, freshness checks, and tests; review code and mentor a junior engineer.
