Requirements
- Have approximately 4–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python, including idiomatic, typed, testable, and maintainable production code.
- Have strong programming fundamentals and sound engineering judgment.
- Have experience designing, delivering, and operating production systems.
- Know API design, data modeling, concurrency, error handling, and observability.
- Have experience writing automated tests with tools such as pytest.
- Have hands-on experience building LLM or agentic applications.
- Have experience with agent workflows, conversation state, context management, model APIs, structured outputs, retrieval, or grounding.
- Be able to evaluate prompts, models, and end-to-end agent behavior, and debug LLM applications using observability platforms such as Langfuse or LangSmith.
- Be experienced with coding agents across exploration, planning, implementation, testing, debugging, and review, and critically assess generated code.
- Have experience mentoring junior developers and improving the quality of their work.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical design and delivery of chat-team projects.
- Shape engineering priorities, standards, and day-to-day technical decisions.
- Turn product requirements into simple, maintainable system designs and write production Python.
- Review pull requests for correctness, maintainability, test coverage, and design quality.
- Mentor junior developers through design guidance, code reviews, and agentic coding workflows.
- Diagnose production issues across application code, agent workflows, prompts, models, data, and infrastructure.
- Improve the reliability, observability, latency, and cost of chat systems.
- Improve coding-agent use throughout the development lifecycle and lead practical team initiatives.
