Requirements
- Have 5+ years of professional experience as a Character Concept Artist or in a related game-development role.
- Have experience contributing to commercially released game productions.
- Provide a portfolio demonstrating strong stylized character design and distinctive character personalities.
- Understand anatomy, shape language, silhouettes, proportions, color, and costume design.
- Be able to communicate personality, emotion, and storytelling through visual design.
- Bring strong sketching, painting, visual exploration, and character-iteration skills.
- Have experience producing clear, production-ready character concepts for 3D artists.
- Demonstrate strong artistic judgment and attention to detail.
- Be proficient in Photoshop, Procreate, or equivalent professional tools.
- Be able to collaborate with Art Directors and multidisciplinary production teams.
- Have strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Responsibilities
- Design stylized characters with distinctive silhouettes, proportions, and visual identities.
- Communicate character personality, emotion, background, and gameplay role through visual design.
- Explore expressions, gestures, costumes, accessories, and color relationships that reinforce character identity.
- Develop thumbnails, sketches, design variations, expression sheets, and detailed character concepts.
- Prepare character turnarounds, callouts, material references, and production documentation.
- Collaborate with 3D Character Artists to translate concepts into game-ready assets.
- Work with Animators to support expressive movement and character performances.
- Incorporate creative feedback while preserving each design's personality and intent.
- Maintain a consistent visual language across the character roster and support artistic guidelines and quality benchmarks.
