Requirements
- Have 5+ years of professional experience as a Concept Artist or 2D Artist in the video game industry.
- Have worked on at least one shipped AAA or high-profile live-service title.
- Demonstrate understanding of anatomical proportions, dynamic posing, dramatic lighting, and superhero comic-book graphic storytelling.
- Bring expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Procreate.
- Show versatility across sci-fi, supernatural, gritty urban environments, and stylized creature design.
- Communicate artistic choices and incorporate feedback from internal leadership and external IP stakeholders.
- Familiarity with 3D block-out pipelines such as Blender or ZBrush is a plus.
- Knowledge of DC Comics characters, storylines, and artistic eras is a plus.
- Experience playing or developing live-service games, MMOs, or persistent online worlds is a plus.
- Experience designing vector graphic elements or stylized game-interface iconography is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design production-ready character turnarounds, costume variations, weapon concepts, and environments.
- Translate design briefs and comic lore into 2D concept art aligned with DCUO’s visual identity.
- Create orthographic callouts, material guides, texture breakdowns, and lighting keys for 3D character, environment, and VFX artists.
- Collaborate with designers and animators to meet gameplay, technical, and engine performance constraints.
- Provide feedback and artistic guidance to junior and mid-level artists.
- Create promotional illustrations, loading screens, and visual assets for community and marketing updates.
