Requirements
- At least 3 years of commercial Java programming experience; Java 21 is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Java and the JVM, including object-oriented and functional programming, multithreading, and memory management.
- Practical experience developing and maintaining enterprise backend applications.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Data JPA, and JPA/Hibernate.
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and SOAP integrations.
- Strong SQL skills, including relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle and database schema change tools, particularly Liquibase.
- Knowledge of JSON, XML, OpenAPI, and WSDL/XSD.
- Knowledge of Git, Maven or Gradle, JUnit, and Mockito.
- Experience preparing unit and integration tests and diagnosing production issues.
- Practical knowledge of JIRA and Confluence and the ability to prepare technical documentation.
- Practical ability to use AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code for code generation and analysis, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise backend applications using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
- Design and implement REST APIs and SOAP integrations using JSON, XML, OpenAPI, and WSDL/XSD.
- Develop business logic, application layers, and data access using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate.
- Design and optimize data structures and SQL queries, primarily for PostgreSQL and Oracle.
- Manage database schema changes using Liquibase.
- Diagnose production issues, analyze logs, and optimize application performance and stability.
- Prepare and run unit and integration tests, and participate in code reviews.
- Contribute to system architecture, and analyze, plan, and support system modernization and migration.
- Prepare and update technical and architectural documentation, including with Enterprise Architect.
- Use AI development tools for code generation, testing, refactoring, and error analysis.
