Requirements
- Hold a BA/BS in life sciences, or a BA/BS in English combined with experience in a pharmaceutical agency, medical communications company, or healthcare advertising.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the medical communication, pharmaceutical, and/or healthcare industry.
- Command American Medical Association (AMA) style.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Be familiar with scientific search engines including PubMed and Google Scholar.
- Gather, evaluate, and summarize healthcare business and scientific literature and insights data for managed care audiences (preferred).
- Have working knowledge of managed markets, healthcare, the healthcare delivery system, health reform legislation, and/or managed care experience (preferred).
- Be able to develop engaging promotional content (preferred).
- Travel for occasional client meetings.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the content point person for assigned accounts.
- Develop medically accurate content in print and digital formats for medical communication resources.
- Deliver projects within established timelines.
- Conduct literature reviews and develop annotations to support promotional claims.
- Work with account teams to refine content in line with strategic imperatives.
- Communicate medical content with internal teams and pharmaceutical clients.
- Attend medical, legal, and regulatory review meetings as needed.
- Contribute ideas to new business proposals and tactical planning for assigned accounts.
- Mentor junior-level staff.
- Travel for occasional client meetings.
