Requirements
- Around 5 years of professional backend development experience with Java 11+; Java 17 or 21 is ideal.
- Automated testing skills with JUnit and mocking frameworks such as Mockito.
- Hands-on Maven experience, including multi-module projects, dependency management and build lifecycle.
- Experience building Java web applications, including REST APIs, JSON/XML handling, HTTP and request/response lifecycle.
- Knowledge of a Java application framework such as Spring Boot or Jakarta EE, and persistence with JPA/Hibernate.
- Understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles and common design patterns.
- Experience with Git, branching strategies and pull request workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
- Experience working in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban.
- Good English communication skills for working with international stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs in Java.
- Write clean, testable code and maintain unit and integration test coverage using JUnit.
- Model data, write efficient SQL against Oracle DB, and tune queries, indexes and transactions.
- Maintain and refactor legacy modules, including XSLT-rendered pages, and help plan their migration.
- Break features into technical tasks, estimate them and raise risks during refinement sessions.
- Review pull requests and maintain coding standards and technical documentation.
- Work with DevOps and QA on build pipelines, deployments and production support.
- Investigate and fix incidents across environments.
