Requirements
- Provide a portfolio demonstrating coding proficiency, attention to quality and performance, and understanding of security, such as a GitHub profile, public projects, or blog.
- Have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Have 5+ years of professional experience in software development and architecture.
- Be comfortable working across multiple programming languages, such as Go, JavaScript, Python, Java, or C++.
- Have production experience building web or backend applications that scale horizontally.
- Value clean, modular, well-tested code.
- Have experience with RESTful API principles and working knowledge of common authentication and authorization practices.
- Have production experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with Go, Node.js, and/or Python.
- Preferred: interest or experience in LLMs, agents, or AI systems, including model APIs, tool-calling, orchestration, or retrieval.
- Preferred: Docker and container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
- Preferred: event-bus architectures such as AMQP (RabbitMQ) or Kafka.
Responsibilities
- Design and build Velona's LLM-orchestration loops, autonomous agents, supervisor-coordinated agents, and tools for reasoning over fleet data.
- Develop high-scale backend services in Go, with Python and JavaScript across the stack, focusing on performance and reliability.
- Build and integrate tools and agents that analyze multi-year fleet data with strict multi-tenant isolation.
- Engineer WebSocket streaming experiences and autonomous background pipelines for overnight analysis at scale.
- Design and consume RESTful and event-driven internal APIs, and build observable, cost-aware services.
- Research models, frameworks, and techniques, and propose technical and process improvements.
- Participate in continuous code review and share ownership of project quality.
- Work with QA/SDET and DevOps on evaluation, testing, and deployment, and own services after production release.
- Contribute to the broader SOFICO Intelligence platform and help connect the AI layer to its supporting systems and data.
- Help raise engineering standards across the combined group.
