Requirements
- Have 7+ years of experience in data or solutions architecture roles with hands-on delivery; Azure is preferred.
- Bring deep practical expertise in Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks, and OneLake.
- Have strong proficiency across the Azure data stack, including ADF, Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, and Azure SQL.
- Be proficient in Python and/or Spark (PySpark) for data transformation and SQL for analytical workloads.
- Have hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview for cataloguing, lineage, classification, and governance policy enforcement.
- Have experience implementing data quality frameworks, including expectations, anomaly detection, and lineage-aware testing.
- Have experience building complex data engineering pipelines and ETL/ELT tasks.
- Have experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Have experience building batch and real-time processing systems, data warehouses, data lakes, and unified analytics platforms.
- Be able to discuss and design solutions involving data lineage, quality, governance, security, replication, caching, lifecycle management, catalogs, and networking.
- Understand requirements and impacts of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, and PIPEDA.
- Have experience writing technical documentation, mentoring technical teams, and working in customer-facing consulting or professional services delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and leadership across cloud data technologies, including tool selection and engineering best practices.
- Lead the design and implementation of data platforms aligned with customer business requirements.
- Lead technical design sessions and produce solution designs, data flow diagrams, and runbooks.
- Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Fabric Data Engineering workloads.
- Define data governance frameworks, policies, stewardship models, and access controls using Microsoft Purview.
- Implement end-to-end data lineage tracking and data quality monitoring and remediation.
- Work with Principal Consultants to gather requirements, define deliverables, and create technical roadmaps.
- Lead data engineering teams in executing project roadmaps and provide technical mentorship.
- Identify technical risks and manage changing requirements and scope within customer engagements.
- Maintain customer relationships, set expectations, solicit feedback, and take ownership of project deliverables.
