  • Have advanced asyncio knowledge, including event loops, tasks, cancellation, backpressure, and asynchronous HTTP communication.
  • Have experience with multiprocessing and worker pools.
  • Know L2/L3/L4 protocols, Ethernet, VLAN, MAC/IP, TCP flags, MTU, fragmentation, and IPv4/IPv6.
  • Have practical experience with IPFIX, NetFlow v5/v9, and sFlow v5, including template-based decoding, sampling, and handling data loss.
  • Be able to analyze traffic using PCAP and create network packets.
  • Have experience automating Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or Palo Alto devices through SSH/CLI and APIs, including configuration drift detection.
  • Have practical experience with application profiling, GC optimization, lock contention analysis, zero-copy, and data structure selection.
  • Know Linux at the level of sockets, epoll, sysctl tuning, and cgroups.
  • Have Kafka experience, including partitioning, acks, batching, SASL/Kerberos, and diagnosing consumer lag.

  • Understand distributed systems concepts including eventual consistency, state and cache synchronization, idempotent replay, and resynchronization after disconnection.
  • Be familiar with code quality and security practices and tools including mypy, golangci-lint, pre-commit, asynchronous tests, snapshot tests, and CI load tests.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance concurrent services in Go and asynchronous systems in Python.
  • Implement TCP/UDP servers and mechanisms for decoding and processing large volumes of packets.
  • Develop systems for collecting and analyzing network telemetry, including IPFIX, NetFlow, and sFlow.
  • Analyze network traffic and debug using PCAP files, packet headers, and network protocols.
  • Profile applications, identify bottlenecks, and optimize CPU and memory usage.
  • Integrate with network devices and automate configuration and infrastructure change detection.
  • Develop data pipelines using Kafka, Protocol Buffers, and columnar or time-series databases.
  • Design state synchronization, caching, data replay, and resilience mechanisms for prolonged disconnections.
  • Prepare and deliver software for client environments, including standalone binaries and installation packages.
  • Maintain code quality, automated tests, dependency security, and deployment reliability.
