Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Expert-level hands-on experience with PHP 8 and Symfony.
- Experience building or maintaining product information management (PIM) systems, product catalogue platforms, or comparable product data platforms.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale data ingestion pipelines, ideally involving 1 million or more records.
- Strong data modeling skills and deep experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks such as Doctrine.
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous processing, message queues, and background jobs.
- Strong knowledge of caching systems such as Redis.
- Experience building reliable web crawling and scraping systems.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
- Practical experience with production monitoring, logging, error tracking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with quoting, CPQ, product configuration software, complex ecommerce product catalogues, manufacturer data, or product feeds is a plus.
- Experience with React, modern JavaScript, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, or AI-assisted product data enrichment is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture of the product catalogue and quoting platform.
- Design data models for products, variants, specifications, pricing, configurable options, accessories, and discounts.
- Build and maintain the PHP/Symfony backend, REST APIs, and integrations.
- Design ingestion pipelines for manufacturer product information, including crawling, scraping, normalization, validation, deduplication, and enrichment.
- Build processes for product imports, incremental updates, data review, and correction.
- Implement asynchronous processing and background jobs using Symfony Messenger and message queues.
- Develop caching strategies using Redis or similar technologies and implement failure handling, retries, and recovery processes.
- Implement production monitoring, logging, metrics, error tracking, and alerting, and improve application performance.
- Build quoting functionality and customer-facing and internal interfaces using modern JavaScript, with React preferred.
- Collaborate with developers and product-data reviewers to implement requirements and improve workflows and data quality.
