Job Details

Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent.
Have 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
Demonstrate software design and implementation focused on correctness, robustness, efficiency, and scale.
Have experience working with large codebases and building modular, extensible, maintainable software.
Have expertise in a modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
Have hands-on development experience in a Linux/UNIX environment.
Have designed and implemented scalable services and APIs, highly available systems, and/or large-scale data infrastructure.
Have experience with data storage and management technologies such as PostgreSQL, Artifactory, Ceph, or Redis.
Preferred: familiarity with Kubernetes or Docker.
Preferred: familiarity with cloud storage, querying, and processing technologies such as Iceberg, BigQuery, Snowflake, DynamoDB, or Trino/Athena.
Preferred: experience building data platforms with a developer-experience focus, including APIs, access patterns, or tooling that abstracts infrastructure complexity.
Preferred: familiarity with job scheduling and orchestration technologies such as Airflow or Slurm.

Guide complex initiatives from requirements gathering and robust system design through deployment.
Evaluate dependent technologies and collaborate with stakeholders.
Build scalable data infrastructure and improve the developer experience.
Own data cataloging, versioning, and lineage to support research and production workflows.
Provide technical guidance to engineering and research staff.
Mentor teammates and support their growth.
