- Experience owning an AI or machine learning system end to end in production, including architecture, implementation, deployment, measurement, and iterative improvement.
- Hands-on experience in at least two of these areas: AI evaluation pipelines and labeled datasets; LLM or machine-learning model-serving infrastructure and multi-step AI workflows; or third-party platform, external API, and enterprise-system integrations.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to build production-grade services, APIs, integrations, and supporting application components.
- Understanding of production failure modes, including timeouts, concurrency issues, malformed requests, retry behavior, and service degradation.
- Experience operating services in modern cloud environments and understanding infrastructure for scalable, distributed applications.

- Develop evaluation pipelines, define success criteria, manage labeled datasets, and use results to improve prompts, model selection, workflow logic, and fallback mechanisms.
- Architect and operate agent infrastructure, including model serving, prompt pipelines, batching, queueing, and workflow orchestration.
- Build resilient production systems with idempotent operations, retries, graceful degradation, and structured logging.
- Integrate with external platforms and APIs, including Encompass and DocuTech, while maintaining data consistency.
- Monitor and optimize AI systems for performance, availability, cost, and correctness, and resolve production issues.
- Collaborate with mortgage fulfillment operations, platform engineering, and loan origination system administrators to clarify requirements and deliver improvements.
- Own technical workstreams from design through deployment and ongoing improvement; make architectural decisions and manage technical risks.
- Promote automated testing, observability, incident response, and production readiness; contribute to reviews, document decisions, and mentor engineers.
